Program Description [back to top] The DeZURIK Elastomer, Polymer and Metal Selection Guide is designed to be used as a guide in selecting the most cost effective valve material. It should only be used as a starting point. There are a variety of conditions which can affect the material chosen. Careful consideration must be given to temperature, the presence of other materials in the solution and the concentration of the media before the material can be selected. This Selection Guide is divided into two sections, one dealing with metals and the other dealing with elastomers and polymers. No representation, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, is made by this Selection Guide due to the complexity and almost infinite variations of mixtures, concentrations, temperatures and flow conditions possible in actual service. Operating Instructions [back to top] Software compatibility is Windows 95+ only. To select a corrosive medium, click on the down arrow to display the list of choices or type the name of the medium in the search box. Use the scroll bar to highlight the medium desired. Click on the medium name to display the recommendations for the elastomers, polymers and metals. To view information (mechanical properties, pressure ratings, temperature ratings, etc.) for a specific elastomer, polymer or metal, double-click on the name of the material in the column heading of the selection grid. If you would like to print this information, check the print box in the upper right hand corner of the screen. To view selection guidelines for elastomers or metals, click on the "E" or "M" button on the tool bar or select from the view menu. All the information displayed by the program can be printed. To print the information, click on the printer icon on the tool menu or select print from the file menu. The print function will automatically display a preview of what will be printed. Header information can be added to the printout by selecting header from the file menu. |
