Copes-Vulcan: History and Development

YEAR:	EVENT:
1903	Copes was founded in Chicago, IL, as a supplier of feedwater regulators for boilers. The Vulcan Soot Blower Company (“Vulcan”) was founded in DuBois, PA, as a supplier of boiler cleaning equipment.
2000	SPX Corporation acquired the Copes-Vulcan Valve product line.
2002	SPX's valve manufacturing operations is based in Houston, TX, and sales, service and engineering support for the Copes-Vulcan brand is based in McKean, PA.
2003	Copes-Vulcan brand celebrates 100 year anniversary.
2004	SPX Valves and Controls becomes part of SPX Process Equipment.
